Living Dangerously - About to tear down a 1970's film camera
My father-in-law generously gave me his 1970 Mamiya/Sekor 1000 DTL SLR. My only mandate is to get it to work. In order to do so, I need to replace its light seals, and maybe clean the pentaprism and focus screen, two things I have never done. But I'm in no position to blow $150 on a repair, so I'll have to do it myself. This scares the hell out of me.
But, I did tear down my 1962 Garrard record player, and successfully rehab it so that it's almost like new, so what's a camera...with it's thousand tiny screws and other parts? So, here we go. Living dangerously, and I better succeed, or Vinnie's gonna have my head. Will update.
